Pokernetwerk Microgaming heft een nieuw netwerk gelanceerd speciaal voor Italië. Pokerroom Ladbrokes is de eerste pokersite die gebruikt maakt van dit netwerk van Microgaming. De wetgeving in Italië eist dat goksites hun servers binnen de landsgrenzen hebben staan en alleen maar Italiaanse spelers accepteren.
Begin 2009 is deze wetgeving van kracht geworden. Naast de eis dat de server in Italië staat en dat de rooms alleen maar Italiaanse spelers accepteren, mogen er alleen maar toernooien worden aangeboden op de sites. Die toernooien moeten zijn goedgekeurd door de instantie AAMS. Microgaming maakt de stap om ook de Italiaanse markt aan te boren. Eerder maakten onder anderen PokerStars, Part[Po]ker en bwin Italië-only pokerrooms.
Ladbrokes is de eerste ‘skin’ van Microgaming die de Italiaanse markt opgaat. Andere pokerrooms die op het netwerk draaien zijn Unibet, GNUF en Craz[Po]ker. Microgaming is ’s werelds negende grootste aanbieder van cashgames, gebaseerd op de drukte aan de cashgametafels. Niet dat ze daar iets aan hebben in Italië, want de overheid staat alleen toernooien toe op de online sites.
