Aankomende zondag gaan de World Championships of Online Poker weer van start op PokerStars. Niet minder dan 62 events staan op het programma, met een gegarandeerde prijzenpoel van $50 miljoen. Team PokerStars Pro Thierry ‘BOKPOWER’ van den Berg kan niet wachten tot de WCOOP eindelijk begint, liet hij weten via de PokerStars blog.

Van 5 t/m 26 september is PokerStars the place to be voor toernooispelers. PokerStars garandeert $50 miljoen aan prijzen voor de gehele serie. Check hier het schema van de WCOOP en alle andere informatie. Het goedkoopste event heeft een buy-in van $109. Is dat teveel voor je bankroll? Schuif dan aan in één van de vele satellites en win goedkoop je seat in een WCOOP event.
Van den Berg: “I want to recommend the satellites to the WCOOP main events. A satellite is ideal because most of the time you can enter a Main Event for less money than the regular buy-in. I played a lot of satellites for bigger events in the past and the money you save with satellites is the first money you win.”Hoogtepunten van de WCOOP zijn onder meer het $10.300 8Game event. Het duurste event is het $25.500 NLHE Heads Up toernooi, waarin de absolute online pokertop zal aanschuiven. Het afsluitende Main Event heeft een buy-in van $5.200.
“The best tournaments in my eyes are the two-day tournaments”, vindt BOKPOWER. “You start with a lot of the chips and the blind structure is so good that it will give us lots of play during the whole tournament. I always feel good in these deepstack tournaments and I am really looking forward to playing in those events.”
Team PokerStars pro Thierry van den Berg heeft er veel zin in en gaat voor een toernooizege. “Personally I can’t wait ’till the WCOOP starts. I have a couple of nice cashes in the NLHE tournaments and my biggest result is a 2nd place in the $320 single rebuy WCOOP 2nd chance in 2008. I really want to break my personal record and I am ready to put a win on my resume. I still don’t have a bracelet around my arm and after a WSOP bracelet, the WCOOP bracelet is the goal of every poker player.”
Het is van groot belang fit en uitgerust te zijn, als je aan een toernooiserie begint. Van den Berg zweert bij voldoende slaap,een gezonde levensstijl waarbij je regelmatig sport en de aloude klassieker: “Eat a lot of vegetables.”
