Lima, de hoofdstad van Peru, kan zich gaan voorbereiden op een invasie van pokerspelers. Van 1 t/m 5 juni vindt in het Atlantic City Casino de Latin American Poker Tour plaats. Het is de eerste keer dat de LAPT Peru aandoet.
“We are both pleased and excited to announce Lima, Peru as a new stop on the Latin American Poker Tour,” sprak LAPT-baas David Carrion. “This event is the result of a warm collaboration and partnership between the LAPT, the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, and the broader Municipality of Miraflores. Together we will create an exhilarating event where players from dozens of different countries are going to travel here and find a unique experience in this outstanding setting.”

De buy-in voor het LAPT Lima Main Event bedraagt $2,700. De organisatie zorgt voor voldoende side events, waaronder een speciaal $300 + 1 rebuy 6 max NLHE event. Voor de highstakers is er opnieuw een invitational highstakes cashgame die wordt opgenomen voor televisie.
Het Atlantic City Casino, dat wordt gezien als het pokercentrum van Peru, ligt op een steenworp afstand van de Grote Oceaan. Op PokerStars zijn satellites beschikbaar om een ticket te winnen naar de LAPT.
