Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu heeft het opgenomen voorzijn vriend Phil Ivey en diens rol in het Full Tilt-schandaal. Volgens deCanadees had Ivey geen rol in het runnen van de site en was hij alleen bezigmet zijn eigen poker- en gokwerk. Veel fans zijn boos op Ivey, omdat hij nietopkwam voor de spelers die nog geld tegoed hebben van FTP.
“TheIvey hate truly boggles my mind,” schreef Negreanu in zijn nieuwste blog. “Anyonewho knows this guy knows he didn’t have the first clue what was going on. Hewasn’t on the board of directors and didn’t care much at all what happened withdaily operations. He was too busy either flying around the country hustlingcraps, or busting bankrolls online and at the Bellagio.”
Ivey klaagde zelf Full Tilt Poker aan voor het uitblijvenvan betalingen aan spelers. Ivey vond dat zijn naam en reputatie door het slijkwerden en weigerde vlak voor het begin van de WSOP 2011 nog langer te zwijgen.Die actie is kennelijk vergeten door een deel van de fans. Negreanu: “Wasit because he chose to sue FTP? Wouldn’tthat decision, along with his statement tell you that he was NOT happy with theboard and the decisions they were making? Shouldn’t that separate him from themess conducted by those at fault?”
Negreanu gaat ook kort in op Erik Seidel, met Ivey één vande bekendste gezichten van Full Tilt Poker. “As for Erik Seidel, we aren’t friends and never really have been. Idon’t think he is shady in the least, we just rub each other the wrong way. AnnieDuke is a good friend of his, and I can’t say that I have a good relationshipwith anyone that chooses to be good friends with that woman.”
