Al 22 spelers hebben zich ingeschreven voor het World Seriesof Poker toernooi van 2012 met een buy-in van $1 miljoen. Mannen als initiatorGuy Laliberté, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen en Tony G hebben hun deelnamebevestigd. Van iedere buy-in gaat $111.111 naar de stichting One Drop, die zichinzet voor schoon drinkwater in derdewereldlanden.
Guy Laliberté had het volgende te zeggen: “Everygesture is important. The poker community is very generous and it is not onlyabout the one million dollar buy-in event, there are other ways that pokerplayers can make a difference.” Naast de al genoemde mannen zijn ook BobbyBaldwin, Phil Ruffin, Andy Beal, Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Tom Dwan, JonathanDuhamel, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Sean O’Donnell en Dan Shak bevestigd.
WSOP Main Event winnaar 2010 Jonathan Duhamel is er dus ookbij en hij is nu al niet te houden. “I am absolutely thrilled toparticipate in the biggest poker event ever organized. One million dollars is alot of money but my participation comes naturally, being a spokesperson for ONEDROP and because of my attachment to such a great cause.
